From the field: Material provision in the line

For an OEM in the automotive industry, we have developed a robust and easy-to-assemble solution for the provision of shift panels directly on the line. The requirement: a clearly structured, permanently loadable intermediate buffering system within the series production process - space-saving, user-friendly and reliable in daily use.

Initial situation and goal

Switch panels are provided on carriers during the production process and must be available on the line in a defined cycle. The aim was to buffer filled and empty carriers in an organised manner - without additional complexity for the operator and with the smallest possible footprint. At the same time, the system had to be easy and intuitive to use for frequently changing personnel.

Our solution: a modular workstation for material provision
  • Clearly defined storage space logic for filled and empty carriers
  • Robust construction made of 2 mm tubular steel and steel connectors
  • Load capacity up to 200 kg shelf load and 750 kg bay load
  • Compact design with high stability
  • Ergonomically adapted to gripping height, sight lines and cycle time
  • GVL-compliant implementation for continuous industrial use

What counts:
During development, the focus was not only on physical storage, but also on the Process orientationclear paths, short hand movements and a logical separation between supply and return. The result is a system that doesn't just "stand still", but actively contributes to cycle stability.
