360Mover drives through long picking aisle at LEITZ ACCO Brands in Heilbronn.

Customer story: How LEITZ makes metres faster and more efficiently every day in the warehouse with the 360Mover

The commissioning of LEITZ ACCO Brands in Heilbronn is characterised by long distances, many individual items and pallets which, depending on the order, can be between 100 and 700 kilograms weighing. Each order picking often includes 150 to 200 metres distance, distributed over Lanes with a length of around 60 metres.

In order to reduce physical strain and ensure a consistent process speed, LEITZ has been relying on two 360Mover. The application clearly shows how technical support can work in existing buildings: without conversions, without additional logistics - but with a noticeable effect on the entire process.

Initial situation: Longer distances, recurring load

The picking structure is defined. Employees move through several long aisles every day, transporting pallets with increasing weights and changing articles. This is possible with traditional hand pallet trucks, but is physically demanding and tiring over the course of the shift.

We were looking for support that:

  • reduces the physical strain,
  • enables smooth movement sequences,
  • can be integrated without having to remodel the space,
  • and works reliably over entire shifts.

The 360Mover in action

LEITZ has been using two 360Movers in daily operation since 2023. The devices run more intensively than in many other applications:

  • 5-7 hours of use per day, up to 10 hours with high utilisation
  • 100-700 kg tensile load, depending on pallet
  • Route profile: several 60 metre lanes
  • 150-200 metres distance per order
  • Battery life: 1.5-2 days per load
  • Reliability: Not a single failure in two years
  • Battery ageing: not noticeable

Coupling to existing pallet trucks is uncomplicated, there is hardly any training required - the team was able to get started immediately.

Feedback from the camp: less power, more speed

The experience from Heilbronn is clear:

„Ergonomically excellent and very reliable. Not a single problem in two years.“
Piotr Feter, Jr. Kaizen Promotion Officer, LEITZ ACCO Brands - with feedback from the team.

Day-to-day use shows that the 360Mover not only makes individual work steps easier, but also changes the entire movement sequence in the picking aisles. Employees start loads noticeably more easily, routes are travelled more smoothly and, especially over longer shifts, the use of the 360Mover has a significant relieving effect.

The effects in everyday life can be clearly identified:

  • Significantly less physical strain, especially when approaching heavy pallets
  • Smoother, more even movement sequences, especially for longer distances
  • Less fatigue over the shift, because load peaks are eliminated
  • More stable process speed, which in total leads to more process stability
  • High acceptance and motivation in the team, as the 360Mover is experienced as real support

This combination of ergonomic relief and process stability creates exactly the effect that LEITZ needs for its daily processes: less effort, more uniformity and a working environment that remains noticeably lighter throughout the day.

Process effect: Small solution, big effect

The 360Mover replaces force with control. Instead of recurring force peaks, the result is an even flow of movement that makes the entire process smoother and easier to plan. This effect is particularly evident in long picking aisles: employees have to compensate less physically, while the overall process becomes more stable and consistent.

For LEITZ that means today:

  • Immediate integration without conversions, as the 360Mover docks onto existing pallet trucks
  • noticeable relief of employees with every pulling and pushing movement
  • More process stability, because movements are more controlled and uniform
  • Constant speed throughout the working day, independent of load or distance
  • Less fatigue, as physical peak loads are completely eliminated

This combination creates a working environment that is more ergonomic, more efficient and generally more resilient to fluctuations in day-to-day business.r replaces force with control. Instead of physical peak loads, the result is an even flow of movement that stabilises the entire process.

Technical overview: 360Mover - tugger train solution for flexible material flow

The 360Mover is designed for situations in which Safe material transport, Precise movements and Cramped space conditions arrives. Compact, manoeuvrable and powerful - it moves up to 1,500 kg tensile load, drives up to 35 km per day and can be controlled intuitively. No training or forklift licence is required.

Thanks to its manoeuvrability, the 360Mover is particularly suitable for:

  • narrow paths and corridors,
